SolarPanelFinder orders 161 Greater Toronto Area solar businesses by one published formula, never by spend. Get your profile right so the page shows the work you actually do, and claim it to put your own confirmed phone number on it. The site now runs a request form; what a homeowner sends reaches SolarPanelFinderby email, not to any listed company without your agreement.
How does this work for a solar company?
1. The profile already exists
Every eligible solar business we found in public records has a basic page built from that data. It is there whether you claim it or not, and claiming costs nothing.
2. Homeowners find you by trade
Category and area pages order companies by the published formula, so a homeowner looking for battery work reaches battery installers rather than whoever spent the most.
3. The homeowner sends a request
Your profile carries a request form rather than a phone number. What comes in reaches SolarPanelFinder by email. Nothing has been sent on to any company from this site, and we would not start without agreeing it with you first.
Why bother claiming?
Because public records describe solar companies badly. A firm doing rooftop arrays, battery retrofits and EV chargers often sits in one broad electrical category with no mention of any of it, which means it never appears where the homeowner is actually looking. Claiming lets the page carry your real service mix and coverage. It changes what visitors see, not where you rank, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise.
- The services you really offer, including battery, off-grid and charger work
- Correct phone, website and the areas you will actually travel to
- Your own project photos instead of whatever the public record held
- A phone number and website a homeowner can act on, printed on the page
Can anyone buy a better position?
No, and there is no version of this site where the answer changes. Position comes from the published formula and nothing else. That rule is what makes the list worth reading to a homeowner, and a list worth reading is the only thing that makes a free profile in it worth having. The exact arithmetic, including what it deliberately ignores, is on the methodology page.

Is a listing genuinely free?
- Yes. A listing is free, no company can buy a better position, and the order on every list comes from a published formula with no advertising slot anywhere on the site. What we are building on top of that is a paid route for work we pass on, which is a separate thing you would have to agree to; nothing is charged to you for simply being in the index.
Do you send me homeowner leads?
- Not yet. The site now runs a request form, and what a homeowner sends reaches SolarPanelFinder by email. Nothing has been passed to any company from this site so far, and we will not start sending work to you without agreeing it with you first.
What does claiming a profile change?
- An unclaimed profile shows only what the public record holds, which for solar is often a generic electrical category and no phone number published on the page at all. A claimed profile shows the services you actually offer, the areas you cover, your equipment lines and the phone number you confirmed. It does not move you up the page, because the formula does not read any of it.
Can I pay to rank higher?
- No. Position comes from one published score out of 100: a Google rating adjusted for review volume, what your own site states about the business, and how complete your public record is, all published on the methodology page. Nobody has bought a position and nobody can. That is exactly why a homeowner has any reason to trust the order, and why appearing in it is worth your time.
Something on my profile is wrong. How do I fix it?
- Email hello@solarpanelfinder.ca with the business name as it appears on the page and what should change. Profiles are built from public sources as of the August 2026 dataset, so a company that has moved, rebranded or changed its service mix will show the old detail until someone says otherwise.
Are you checking my licence or insurance?
- No. We do not check licences, insurance or WSIB coverage, and we do not visit or contact these businesses. Nothing on this site states or implies that a listed company has been checked, approved or endorsed, and no badge here claims it. The pages show what the public record contains and say plainly what was not looked at.
